Ok I hope ole joe reads this.
Several years back I was given permission to hunt some nice property. It had been logged the previous year and a little hard to get around.
As I headed to my stand one morning well before daylight I decided to try some doe in heat. I poured it on a couple of sponges to drag along my trail. I accidentally spilled the nasty stinking stuff on my pant leg. I graded to my stand with only a little flashlight for light. As I was creeping along I heard the most shrill sound coming up behind me fast. I fell in a big hole where the loggers pushed a big tree over. I dropped my little flashlight. The noise got about 10 feet away and ran off. Seconds later it came running back again. Getting much closer this time. I could clearly hear the sling brackets rattling from me shaking. It ran off again. I had that gun shouldered but had no idea which way the house or barn were and didn’t dare shoot plus it was so dark I couldn’t see my attacker or what it even was. It came at me a third time and got close enough I could feel it’s breath. I hollered bang bang and it ran off. I stood still right there and never made a move til it was daylight and I could see.
Some old timer got wind of that story and I like to never lived it down.

yeah,,,if it'd been me,,I expect there would of been copious amounts of my stuff mixed in with thet doe urine and causin thet Buck to be lookin for me,,,,,  Durin the rut them bucks go plumb crazy and humans don't bother em a bit,,,,they just wantin their turn at whatever,,,,errrr,,,, whoever smells like what they lookin for,,,,I'll bet that was a night to remember huh,,Thad,,,,,,
