Any of yal have any experience with these drills
It's a no till model
Done 3500 acres
12 footer..askin 13500 for it
I think that's too much

What model is it? Is it a model with a coultercart on the front or a regular notill end wheel drill? I have planted several hundred acrs with my neighbors 1006 drill. I just put all new bearings in the notill openers last winter. In high residue it is very good. When planting into soybean stubble I prefer the John Deere as it has less soil disturbance. In lots of trash it is better than the Deere as the Deere has a habbit of hairpinning the residue into the seed trench and letting the seed on top the ground when planting shallow. The Great Plains cuts thru the trash then has a seperate opener to plant the seed. They could improve on there press wheels some as they don't do a lot. Last fall we ran the cultimulcher over the fields we planted rye in to get better seed to soil contact. Most years a good rain does the job but last fall we seeded rye much later than usual. Tom

End wheel or semi-mount? With or without a coulter cart? I like my 1500 NT drill with parallel linkage. I'm getting better yields over the Junk Deere 750 I once owned.

USDA is replacing all their JD drills, was getting so everyone that wanted to rent their drill, went and rented a different brand and left the new JD drill sitting. think they replaced them with the great plains units.

USDA or local conservation district?? I’m on the local district board and we the board own the drill. We backed our Great Plains in the weeds once the Deere showed up. No comparison the Deere is better. Nearly impossible to beat Deere planting equipment.

well it's parked at the USDA office, next time i'm there if I remember, i'll look at the sticker on it. also our local pheasants forever had a new jd drill they rented out for a money maker, they have also got rid of their new jd drill for another make, not sure of that make.

I run a jd 1560 won’t cut through trash but does a good job otherwise. Had a field I planted year before last in fescue and orchard grass where the crabgrass had bedded down it wouldn’t cut it

Local conservation district used to have a Deere for the big drill, and a Great Plains for the little one (7 foot probably?) The only reason they got rid of their Deere is because the dealership started renting one out. I rented the Great Plains one last year. It came with one opener missing. I planted 12 acres, and I lost another one about halfway through. Not sure why, I had no mishaps, but it just fell apart. I'm sure it has lots of acres and lots of misuse, just sayin. I was happy with the crop, I planted sorghum sudan grass into hay stubble.

Planted severl years with a 750. As far as drills go it was ok. Biggest problem was it left a little trench above the seed. During a heavy rain, the trench would fill in, get hard, and the poor little bean couldn't make it through.
