Well I'm on my new plan now and am going backwards with any further vehicle purchases. I hate all this new technology, and I like being payment free.
So I just bought an old 2006 F150. But one thing I cannot stand is how all these modern vehicles lock the doors them selves. I'm capable of locking my own doors when I want to. So before I remove all the lock mechanisms from it, does anyone know if this can be programmed out in the FICM or something? I know my VW dealer told me it couldn't be done with my new VW's or i would lose other features. But I'm not sure if it can be done on this older Ford. After owning new vehicles I'm looking forward to now having something i never have to wash and I don't care about people scratching and denting it everywhere I park. LOL.

Yes,that can be easily programmed off. Read the owner's manual. If you don't have it, get one off Ebay or?? Can shut off seat belt minder too. All sorts of customization options. Follow the directions to a tee.

Absolutely, read twice very slowly and in my case I should have done it aloud with someone listening. I bought a new remote for my Isuzu years ago, to program it the instructions said to insert the key in the ignition, turn the key to the ACC position then back to the lock position 3 times within 3 seconds then close and open the drivers door 2 times. I spent over an hour in the very cold with no luck until I finally realized you had to start out with the drivers door open because the next step after the key said, "CLOSE" and open the door twice.
