    Posted: 21 Oct 2018 at 4:56pm
Took the Allis for a ride up around the pine plantation up in my back property.

Fall colors didn't get that great this year. We had that caterpillar invasion this summer so the maples didn't grow a lot of leaves back by the time they were gone.

These CA's do have a lot of grunt eh? My hills are pretty steep and I could bring it down to idle in 2nd and 3 rd gears and it just keeps climbing.

Thanks. Been too busy trucking to start any of my restoration on it, so when I have days off I've just been enjoying driving it.

What is the serial # of your CA? I have a CA that was built in November of 1955 and my Dad bought it new in April 1956 from a Allis Chalmers dealer in Kitchener, Ontario. I have the original Bill of Sale for the CA. The serial # is CA34678. It was one of the first tractors I learned to drive. I got it from my Dad in 1969 and my son and grandson learned to drive the CA as there first tractor. We still use it to work the garden with a rototiller,  run grain auger, and other small jobs.

Thank you everyone. My back yard has two levels and from the top (last pic) it overlooks part of Lake Superior.
I'm only a wanna-be farmer, LOL. I just love farms and tractors.

Rayhowling....I'll have to get back to you with that. I'm on the road for the week right now. Wish I could remember. Can I PM you when I get home so you see it?

Nice looking CA and some beautiful scenery. That is a nice place you have there. It is a blessing to get out into the woods and enjoy the beauty of God's creation.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

You know for as old as it is that CA looks GREAT!!!  You may want to keep it that way.  Love those A-C decals with the white outline.
The CA is one neat tractor.  After the G this was the one I loved to plow with.  Made a many a sale when we plowed.  Many could not believe that "small" a tractor was that stout. One of our form members posted a picture of his son driving a CA.  I looked hard and could easily have place myself - some 75 or so - in the seat of a B, C, later CA.
Thanks for sharing such beautiful pictures.  Here in Maryland we still have most of our foliage, however that should change very soon.
Good Luck!
Bill Long

Thanks a lot everyone. I'm glad you all enjoyed the pics. I just posted them because i know we all like looking at the the tractors.

You said I may want to keep it that way Bill Long.....that's why I'm in no real panic to do the full restore and paint. In a way I kinda like having it look like it has been working since 1955. Right now I am just concentrating on making it proper and fixing all the little mechanical stuff. Other than that big spot on the bell housing where the paint all washed off it doesn't look all that bad.
And even if I do blast and paint it all....I'm not going to remove any of the dents from the hood. I still want it to look used.

And like you say, I too am surprised at how strong that CA is for it's horsepower and size class.

So happy I fond this tractor and this site. There is a wealth of good information here and everyone has been extremely helpful to me.

Did I mention I found a previous owners fuel gauge in my gas tank?

Saw something in the tank, so I fished it out with a clothes hanger. A stick.

So if anyone need a fuel gauge for their CA I have one in stock. LOLLOL
