I am putting an electric fuel pump on my 720. I was wondering if I should remove old fuel pump or leave it on? Thanks for any help. rrhead(SD)

Thank you. That was my plan, but wanted to make sure it would not cause any trouble. rrhead(SD)

Just for my info, why are you switching to an electric pump? They tend to over power the needle seat and flood the engine. Not saying it’s wrong to do, just curious.

I'm having some trouble with mine. It will run perfect for about 30 minutes, then it will start coughing and acting like it is getting to much fuel. Put in new carb kit and it did the same thing. Noticed the fuel pump was leaking a little fuel and tightened it down in between taking carb off. Thought I had stopped leak but it still seeps when running. Going to try this and see what happens. Thanks. rrhead(SD)

Going to be a few days. Got the new fuel pump yesterday, but we started filling silo today. Supposed to rain middle of next week, so should have time then. rrhead(SD)

Fuel pump rebuild kits are available. I to would be concerned about a leak as it can cause a serious fire. Let us know how the electric pump install goes and if it solves your issue. My guess is the rebuild kit may solve your issue. Since your putting the electric on make sure the key is turned off if it shuts off for some reason or it may flood the engine resulting in an oil and filter change. Another forum member recently had this happen.

The electric fuel pump system that I designed for those Tractors operates off a special oil pressure switch. If that engine shuts off for any reason, the fuel pump does the same so it does not continue to run! The only way that pump runs is when there is oil pressure present at the switch. Safety first! Pumps output 1-3 psi. Works fine with stock Carb. Our Electric Fuel Pump Kit for the 616-720 Tractors. Kit #1703-22. Comes with wiring, switches, relay, fuel filter, pump clamps and hose. Runs $148.95 Its on our website... Steve@B&B
