    Posted: 30 Aug 2018 at 10:31am
Hey guys! Long time no see. I recently acquired a 1967 190XT series 1 and am in the process of fixing it back into useable condition. I found that it has 2 holes in the turbo and will need to replace it. I found a HY35 off a Cummins ISB at a very good deal but will it fit under the hood without having to cut a hump?

Thanks guys and here’s a pic of the new ride and my 3 month old daughter.

even if it fits under the hood how do you know its the right size and ratio for the tractor.  IMO you should get the correct replacement or it could cost you more in the long run.

Hy or Hx 35's are a very good fit for them, many have done it, was my plan, but I'm going to run a S200, much better turbo for the money. Talk with injpump Ed on this forum and he will set you up.

A-C designed the turbo on that tractor to spool up at 1600 to 1700 RPM and perform at 2,200 RPM rated load.  I'd question whether the Holset models you are talking about can do that with fuel delivery settings of 94 PTO/105 flywheel HP.  The engine they come off of are 359 cubes and more HP than that.

Very true Dr.Allis I know I had heard of a lot of people running them but I don’t know if the missing 58 cubes would make a big difference. The turbo it has on it now is a RotoMaster. I have never heard of them. I thought the series 1 came with a RayJay turbo.

Believe it or not momma has blonde hair. lol. Buddy my little brother has the white dodge and I sold my blue one. Went out and got myself a 2006 Dodge dually and really like it until a few months ago when the trans went out. Now I’m swapping a G56 manual into it. I’ll be sure to post some pics of the fleet and the goings on around the place. It has been awhile.
