Hello, I’m new to this forum. I am looking at a 1981 7060 that has 8600 hrs on it the duals on it are like new and everything looks well maintained. It’s has the power shift and everything seems to be in good working order. He is asking 12500 for it and I am wondering if that is a fair price?

I don't know what they are worth but I really liked the power shift and we had the stadium lighting on ours, was a pleasure to use.

IMO its priced pretty high. I bought a 8050 pd two wheel drive with 3850 hrs for $13500 two years ago from a Case IH dealer in sw Mn. This was a two owner tractor with like new 18.4-42 rears with duals. I love 7060s and dad owned quite a few. With those hours you really need to know the maintenance history.

I have one of the newer (black belly) 7060's also. Bought it probably about five years ago. I gave around $7,300 for it. It has stadium lights, but I changes em all out because some didn't work, and they didn't all match. (it's un-acceptable to have non-matching stadium lights). It also has the remote mirrors, but only one of them work. The paint on mine is faded, well mostly gone, but it's not beat up. The sheet metal and everything is very straight. One rear must have had a chloride blowout, because the rim is terrible rusty and should be replaced and the cast center looks terrible on that side also. Tires are pretty good on it, but no duals. It has the power shift. I think that the hours on it are pretty close to the same as the one that you are looking at. Mechanically, mine seems to be pretty rock solid. It could use a cab kit. My son and I both love running it. It's a very useful sized tractor. As far as the asking price of the one that you're looking at, I guess that I'd try to snag it a little cheaper than that, but if it looks like it's been shedded it's whole life, paint is good, interior is good, all lights work and everything, that price is not too far off base. If I spent the money to make mine look good cosmetically, I'd go over that 12,500 mark. Darrel

81' AC 7060 are good tractors. $12,500 seems high @ 8600 hrs?
You mention new dual tires. Inside rears new also? That could be $0000 for just tires. If both the engine & Power Shift have been recently over-hauled by reputable experienced hands, then that would help. And then there's the Torque Limiter condition?? |

Great tractor but way too high for the hours..cover one eye and tell him you can see about half of that. I wouldnt give 10 for it with those hours

Agree with the others, that's real high money for that tractor. Unless it's mighty special, beautiful, new tires, well documented recent rebuilds....$8000 tractor

If it were my $12k, I'd put a couple more thousand with it and get an 8050 or 8070.Leon B Mo

I also agree that's a high price but this is what kills me, if it where a 4430 john-deere it would easily be worth 16k.
