Built 6" extensions for my 6 blade. Originally had planned on going 8', but realized I couldn't angle it all the way without it hitting the tires.
![]() ![]() Not a perfect match, but, good enough for my use. So far I have $60 invested in the extensions. Still have a few more bolts to replace, as every one on the back half was loose. |

That looks really good to me.
Does a cutting edge bolt to the bottom?

Good work! Let us know how they work. I would like to extend one of mine some day, 6' is a little narrow and 9' is a little much. Have thought about cutting an original in two, however the value of these things calms that urge.

Yea, I bought the regular / original extensions for mine and as you say the blade hits the tires ... however that much angle is enough to do what i need to do... can't "turn it complete" to push backwards but I don't do that anyway

![]() Got it finished up today. Bladed the driveway and leveled the dirt over the drain field that was dug in last fall. 7' cutting edge for a road grader bolts right on. Put a used one on for now. Gotta get a new one. |

By the way. Changing the cutting edge is an adventure. When you pull the bolts, EVERYTHING comes apart. I'm used to changing road grader edges. With 2 guys, we could change them in 5 minutes. Doing this on took me close to an hour. But the I wasn't on the time clock either.

Thanks. Lot of welding and grinding to get the shape right, but I enjoy metal fabrication.

Are you interested in making anymore extensions? I’d like a 7’ blade behind my WD-45 also. Can you turn the blade backwards with them on?

We used to have a blade with extensions. The only way to turn it completely around (to push) was to manually turn it before it was mounted (hits the tires) on the tractor.

For those of you that are wondering about making them. All I did was trace the end of the blade. Took it to local metal supply place. They cut and bent the main blade curve. The bottom bends where the cutting edge attaches are 2 pieces of flat steel welded together. Just trial and error. Tack it together then match it to the profile of the blade. Once I got the profile to match, just started filling with weld and ground it to match.
