Called the local dealer for A&I products today about a rebuild kit for a D17 gas and found out they can get me one that they call a high compression kit. But they said it wasn’t any higher than a oem kit. My question is has anyone ever used it and what compression ratio might I be looking at since it’s listed for a wd45 D17 170 and 175

big difference between oem WD45 and oem 175
all the overbore kits that I know of are lower compression than the OEM 4" bore kits

If I were in the market for an engine kit, I would go to somebody like Jim Danforth that can tell you what CR the kit is, and get you what you want.

There is a really good thread about 201 and 226 pistons in the knowledge base section. Here is the link:http://www.allischalmers.com/forum/followup-on-wd-wd45-pistons_topic114979.html

Powermax kits was the only one i could find with a high compression standard bore. But at the time they were out of stock (this was a while back) might want to check them out. All the agco kits are gone unless they ran a new batch in the last year.

I would guess it's a 7.25:1 kit. Same as a D17.
Reliance/Powermax was the only guys making a true 8.25:1 175 kit. They don't have any more unless they made a new run between late last year and now. From past experience a year ago, it didn't sound like Reliance was interested in making another run
