They are tough tractors,, I worked for a guy who had one , used it for loader work etc,, you set in a hole on them is the only part I didn't like, parts are out there, just maybe not convienent as when Allis was in business, but Agco carries some

I have a couple 5040 tractors and a Long 460 all Fiat built the 460 is almost exactly the same as the 5050 and I have a couple Oliver 1365 which if AC had offered a 4 cylinder version of the 5050 it would be exactly like the 1365.I like all of them and they work good for me.The one thing to watch out for is to make sure the lever for the PTO clutch is always run in the down or engaged position as running it in the up/disengage position will result in it ruining the block and crankshaft.Parts are very easy to obtain and they are far cheaper than any other brand of tractor I know of,Import Tractor in Canada will have just about anything you'd ever need for a 5050.

I have a cousin that has a 5050 with over 10,000 hrs on it. Brakes are shot and he plans to replace those but other than a wiring harness issue he said its been a good one. Myself, I was never a fan. Seamed under powered and its best torque was with the engine at higher rpm. May also be because it was build over seas that I didn’t like it. Just didn’t really look like a AC should. Now, seams like everything is build over seas.

I have a 5050. It's a gutsy little tractor. I've planted hundreds of acres with it pulling a 6 row planter. Also use it to mow and move things around with a 3 pt. hitch boom. No major problems. When the fuel filters are changed it's a bear to bleed. As with all little tractors one has to make sure not to overload the ability of the tractor with 3 pt. implements. So far the parts I've needed have been available at an AGCO dealer. A friend has one he uses in his apple and peach orchard. It has a lot more hours on it than mine and he's had few problems with his. It's not "modern" compared to today's tractors but a 5050 also costs a whole lot less than a new tractor.
