The 200 I bought a year ago had a new 3 wire Delco alternator but no drive or cable. Can I put a tach drive on it just by pulling plug out of back of alternator. If so where's a good place to get the drive.

What you see as a plug is probably the needle bearing with a bottom to it. Besides, the shaft won't have a threaded hole in the end of it to accept the threaded in drive gear. So the answer is no.

Thanks, so I'll have to buy alternator with the tach drive then. Oh well my other tractors take the same alternator so I can just put it on the shelf till one goes down. Where is the best place to get a good alternator with the tach drive.

I have a used working alternator with the tach drive in it. Was on a 190xt. You would have to take the dual pulley off of your alternator and put it on this one.   190xt only had a single fan belt

Which Delco 3 wire alternator? External or internal regulator? The original used an external regulator. My 200 has an internal regulator alternator modified for the tack drive.
