anyone have an idea where to get engine weights, i am using a 39 B with 3 point, and using it weekly to do a mini farm. thanks.

no it doesn't have hole for post but i would think simple drill n bolt w spacer would work, maybe.

this is a 175 pound old wheel weight cut in half....... had it laying around the farm several years ago........... half on each side.

OK, I have a silly question...
Would adding wheel weights to the FRONT rims be 'better' than side weights?
curious as I have a set collecting dust....

I like the wheel weights better better because the weight is directly to the ground. The side weights add weight to the axle pivots and bearing causing increased wear. Probably doesn't make too much difference. Use whatever you have or can get.

Dave is right..... adding frame weights is like putting a loader on a tractor. Puts more weight on the spindles and bearings.. also causes more wear to the steering parts... Wheel weights are always a better plan, but access to them is much more limited. Some of my small tractors only get 50- 100 hours a year so I don't think its a big deal. If I was running 500 hours a year, I might look for wheel weights.

I built a concrete mold to cast reproduction front wheel weights out of lead. B side weights would be easy local tire shop will give me all the weights I wasn't, or you can get them from salvage yard if you painted them nobody would know the difference lead weighs 50% more than cast iron

I have a similar single wheel weight with no mate to the one above. It would take a long time to cut that thing in half with a hack saw lol.

I am going to pick up side motor weights - i have wheel weights now - about 50 lbs each w bolts. / side motor 90 each, so 180+100 up front, reason is disc on 3 pt is back a ways (the after market 3 pt works Great! but arms are longer dt bolted to tow bar) and makes tractor light when lifted and moving. advantage to longer arms on 3pt is no hitting rear tire w disc on tight turn. - i have original 1 bottom plow and cultivator (they are mid mount and Smart) but take way too long vs 3pt implements for grab n go week end small farm. / i use king kutter implements and work well no issue at all. - i am about to use a new 5 foot box blade at 450 lbs and that's the going bring front wheels up point w wheel weights. 400 ok that extra 50 is loss of steering and holy  if on a slight hill. / my logical guess is 180 on motor sides will fix issue as long as no fast idle clutch slip... had that happen - needed new undershorts. fyi I LOVE my B and ability to see the ground, i crank start it. Its a total rebuilt everything and the other week 5 deg weather - one - 4 inch crank to start! 1939 she is..
