At least poster doesn't say it is rare and then advertise a $5,000 price tag. And Allis Chalmers is spelled right.

Stopped and looked at it back in the Fall. It is located near me. Not much to work with. Rear rims and hubs look OK. Tires are not much to brag about. Totally cobbled together.

Steve, is that a Ford six? To cold and snow is to deep for me to go out to my scrap yard and look. I have a couple Chevy 6's out there. I had a Ford six but memory is failing me on the side cover in the center picture. |

It looks like a Ford bell housing and I don't remember the Chevy six having the distributor not in the center. The domed side cover below the spark plugs has me scratching my head. The ford 215 ci has a domed cover has the spark plugs on the right side but this does not have the oil filter in the center like the 215. All the six cylinder Ford and Chevy engines I had the oil filler/breather cap was in the front. I am puzzled is all.

Later Ford inline six has intake and exhaust on the passenger side... This is an earlier Ford 223 inline six, about 1960-61. It was used primarily in cars, but also appeared in some pickups, bread trucks, and the Edsel.
Identifying factors beyond that include single piece lifter cover, with curved face, fuel pump in the middle of the camshaft, distributor towards front, starter mounted to bellhousing casting, oil filter located between distributor and fuel pump. Valve cover held on with 8 bolts... 3 each side, and one on each end. Earlier used two studs through the top with acorn nuts. |

If it is homemade, then it is not a B at all. It may have some B parts, but you think if you was going to call it a B you would at least use a B engine. That would be the most important part.
