A guy years ago had a junk yard . he made a frankinallis out of a hd5 . he put a 350 chevy engine in it and rigged up a foot clutch. the rpms was so high it would slam the blade up and down and it ended up being torched.

A fellow in northern MN had a TD24 that he spent a ton of money on the engine and had to rework it twice and when the head cracked the last time, he just pulled out the engine and put a police 440 interceptor and automatic in and made an adapter to fit to the transmission shaft, then drove the hydraulic pump off the front of the crankshaft and said his fuel consumption went down to something like 6 gal gas an hour from 8-9 gal diesel... and got more work done with it ... and lighter on the front too. Asked if he would do it again, and said he would not hesitate if the old engine was junk and there were more of them engines in the junkyards to be had for a few dollars...had it set up to just toe it from forward to reverse and open up the throttle... Think it was in the Farm Show Magazine some 30 years or so ago...

Are those shingles on the front, or did the dog in the picture just lose his house?

After looking at the seat I now know where my college roommate’s old sofa cushions went.
Seriously though, that swinging drawbar looks almost perfect. |
