Probably been posted before, but largest reciprocating steam engine built in the US. Taken from the Cornish Pump Museum in Iron Mountain MI

I've stopped and have seen that pump. Very impressive for the day. It is an E.P. Allis product and was built prior to Allis-Chalmers.

Just to clarify, that may have been the largest steam engine built to that date, but the largest in the world were the Manhattan Engines developing over 10000 hp each and built by Allis Chalmers.
