My 1980 185 when shift from low to high it will it will hesitate for maybe 5 seconds and then grind for a second then go to high and be fine but does that every time. When I have it idled down and go to take off sometimes it won't until I give it move gas. Can i do something to kick up the pressure or is there a valve stuck

Won't know anything until you get a 400 psi gauge and plug it into the manifold where the brake latch mechanism is. Sounds like a stuck pressure regulator spool from your story. Should have more than 250 psi in low and high sides.

This one sounds like something in the high side of the clutch pack,
but lets hope for his sake that it is just the valve with maybe a broken spring or a bit of dirt like the 200 had recently for me. |
