At least you made it back !!
My main D-14 has both leaky fron and rear seals so if you want to 'practice', come on up ! The drips don't bother me too much...kills weeds and ols the snap coupler ring on the implement I drive up to when I park in the shed !! |

see how many drips or quantity you leak.. put a pan or rag under it to check.. Several drips is not a problem.. Spoonfull might not be a concern. If your having to add motor oil often, then something of concern... Rear seal drips slightly... could get on clutch plates and make it "stick" sometime.......... monitor.......... not a concern.

Well you hear something new everyday. Hopefully your just joking. Yes during go season you might have to add oil and go but when you buy oil by the 55 gallon drum it sort of adds up. |

no, not joking, actually all my D-14s leak a bit. But I don't farm with them otherwise I'd tear them all apart and fix the leaks( dang PTO lever o-ring is INSIDE 'somewhere').
The blowby from the forklift was worse but I 'fixed' that. Bodged a lower rad hose( has spring in it) and ABS bits and pieces between where the oil fill cap was ..to...the custom airfilter T unit. NO more mess on the floor, easier to start too....and a lot cheaper than the 5000 Canucks I was quoted to fix it. Jay |

thanks guys, drips don't bother me either, only her who must be obeyed gets narked when I carry oil into the house on the underside of my shoes !!
I was just a little concerned that it would cause an issue with the clutch !!! Yes she went about 25 miles yesterday with no problems, I just modified her to run on Kero by adding an additional gasoline starter tank and ran fine on it
