We need a new throttle cable for our F2 (Our machine has the 433I engine). Does anyone know what length of cable we need, and does the cable separate from the handle assembly in the cab, or do we have to purchase the whole assembly?

two types - it is available as a wire, or the cable , or the entire assy - or the late models used a large cable in lieu of the lawn mower type.
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..

Matador, if you guys need any help locating one, give a call, I am sure dad would love to hear an update.

Did the wire break, and the sheath is fine, or is the sheath messed up too?

if you replace just the wire, we have had good luck sharpening the end so it doesnt catch, and then as you feed it in, coat it with anti-seize.

You will need to be removing the cab side panel and sit on the tire for this adventure. might need to feed the wire through the front console door. Having two sets of hands will help.

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.

If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help.

Sheath seems fine. The problem is that the wire itself seems bound in there. Moving the throttle in cab does nothing- the machine stays at idle, and handle itself pops back to idle when you're not holding it. We're planning to pull the cable out of the sheath, bathe it in oil, and try feeding it back in, unless that causes a problem

As for the machine itself, so far, so good other than one major problem. Over the beater, part of the sheet metal broke off on the top, causing chaff to be spewed all over the engine. We noticed it right away, and there was fortunately no fire, though we did use the extinguisher on it. We've fabricated a new piece, so that's good to go

due to the open hood design on a F2, my vote is the cable is slightly rusted at the first low spot downhill from the engine end of the cable.

I would spray some PB Blaster down it, and try to wiggle it from the engine side.

If its being stored outside, maybe put a truck mudflap over the injection pump and cable so that snow does not set on it, as I am sure Wyoming meets or exceeds a Northwest KS winter, and snow can blow into all sorts of places.
