Mowing hay today and downshifted to get through tough spot and engine took off racing. Throttle back and came back down. Seems like if rpms go over 24-2500 it wants to take off. Finished mowing by keeping on the throttle, but it is very hard to control.Been thinking for awhile that it seemed weak.

Time for a rebuild job. North east diesel at Shelbina, Mo does a good job on them pumps. Also there are people on this form that do good work.   MACK

Is the removal process same as 8030?, my 8010 info doesn't show Ambac pump

yes, same removal and installation procedure as 8030/8050/8070.

Remove three bolt plate on side of front cover for timing marks. They are hard to see behind gear.
I'm sure InjpumpEd can do you a good job.     MACK

Got pump fixed and back to running. Governor was bad and needed resealed, got lucky and was only a little over $700.
