The gear shifter on my 37 WC is loose - lots of play in the lever, and there is a tendency to jump out of gear every once in a while. I took it off the transmission hoping I'd see something obviously wrong with it, but there's nothing that looks broken in there. If I were to take it completely apart, how much trouble am I getting in to? What will be worn and need replacing? Are the usual parts available?
Counting this time, I'll have done this once. I'm a little nervous about tearing into it, but it's not right so I have to do something. Is it easier just to replace the whole assembly? Who has one, if that's the case? Thanks in advance!

I've never done it myself, but I know a few guys that have. I'm sure that at least one of them will be giving you some help. All I know is that it IS a PITA but not rocket science...
I'll check back later and see if you've gotten the help you need. |

in the process of tightening up my shift lever on my WF, WF- WC are the same.
Need to replace the pin on the side of the tower, and maybe redo the slotit slides in. I am thinking ( with a lot of luck one could un attcah the spring cage and washer with ot taking out the
ing rails. am stalling on doing it . want to devote time to do it with an extra hand or two as well. Look at the parts books for the parts and assembly drawing s. |
