Hi everyone. I have a D17 Hydraulic question. Until now the oldest tractor I've had is a Series IV D17 with full hydraulics. Now with the 1962 D17 I have I need some help on what hydraulic cylinders to use on my disc and plow. Am I correct in the thought on the older style that the hydraulics lift the cylinder then just releases pressure to drop? What kind of cylinders will I need to buy for this tractor?

You should post WTB in the classifieds and a LOT of people will come to your rescue.  They are HIGH pressure and LOW volume, vs everything else today which is LOW pressure and HIGH volume.  GOOD LUCK!!

You need a hi pressure cylinder. One that screws to gather not bolted to gather.    MACK

Correct on the single hose. When I was using my D17 more I'd just remove the down hose and replace it with a breathing filter. So far it's worked well.

correct you need a single acting cylinder or do like play farmer. (as long as you get a good one that the seals on the piston aren't leaking or you blow oil out the breather when you full stroke the cylinder).

a small bore cylinder is good for the allis hydraulic system, a large bore cylinder would work but take a long time to lift your implement.
