Can a faulty ignition switch cause the system not to charge. It has generator and voltage regulator. Thanks Tracy

Not with a regulator and generator. Broken wires, bad regulator or generator can prevent charging. A very worn generator pulley will also limit charging by letting the fan belt slip.

Gerald, wasn't sure. I did notice a dead spot in switch while cranking today. Had to hold it just right. Thanks Tracy

Tracy, gennie on SII I had done only lasted two years. "Rebuilds" don't seem to last as long these days. Shop touted sealed bearings were much better and I have yet to get it back to the ol' boy's shop. Thought I heard a "growl" one day brush cutting and it was noticeable by touch with a bare hand.
