What kind? Most spreaders have their own valve to adjust speed.

It is a Pik Rite HR250. I see in the manual it has a valve. A fellow wants me to pull it for him, but he is 30 miles away so I can't just hook it up and try it out. I guess I will need some time allowed to figure out where to attach the valve and get everything set properly. Tractor has a cab so that will probably complicate things somewhat.

yup as mack sez screw in the detent on the remote valve cap (same valve as 100 series as in 185-200) or tie the lever back...
