Perusing some vids and this popped up. Clicked on as curious what and how they would get a tractor out, had no idea what it was so surprised when it started to surface. Reading comments posted with it, apparently a fatality in 2013.

That is the craziest wrecker I have ever seen with that long a boom it is more of a crane. I do wonder if they got it drained out before it froze. The only thing that will save it is that the water inside wouldn't freeze until it got out of the water.

Dan....thet wrecker is a normal semi wrecker around here. one of my buddies has 2 of them....good money makers! them can sit in the shop 5 outta 7 days and still make more money than a 1 ton that runs 7 days a week!

I'd guess $200 to $400 per hour plus mileage, around here the EPA would turn this rescue into a million dollars, and jail time!

at the very minimum $3000.-$4000. divers get BIG bucks if they hafta dive in winter. know this from our Sheriff's dept hiring them for a recovery. the wrecker is prolly $300-$400 per hour now a days. sum charge more, depending on what kinda chit job they gotta do! and that's from the time they leave their garage til the time they get back. then you have the other workers doing the ice cutting and staking. then the water quality will hafta be tested to make sure oil/grease or other contaniments might be present from the tractor.
