Anybody have a suggestion on how to loosen a stuck injector in a black 7580 head? I have been soaking it with penetrating oil and tapping it lightly and still can't get it to move at all. Would it be better if I ran the engine to operating temp and then try to move it? Also, it is the #2 cylinder, not the easiest one to get to either!

Would a service manual have a picture of the tool in it? I have several Allis/OTC specialty tools that I got from a dealer closeout years ago and some I still haven't figured out yet!

Will  the treads on top of the injector be strong enough to pull from?

Check to see if your nearest injection shop can borrow tools…they should have a fitting to go onto a slide hammer. 2.5 - 5 lbs hammer if I'm not mistaken?

after loaning out our tool and never getting it back, the guys used a inj nut - welded an all thread sae to the top - then used a back plate off a Frigidaire compressor , drilled three holes, put studs on the out side two for legs and the nut/washer as in the above picture. HINT! - while pulling on the injector use a air chisel with a tip ground to fit the body, turn the pressure down and vibrate the injector as pressure is applied.  (same procedure used by deutz rebuilders to remove  jug / head bolts rusted at the block by fertilizer etc. )
