I have seen 2 different types of 42" cast centers on 8000 series. One is flat like a more conventional 38 cast seen on 7000/8000 series. And then the one that has a more tear drop towards the axel which looks heavier

With the flat one, can you get 18.4 x 42 into 30 rows or do you need the reverse Mexican Hat style?

Our 8070 had the reverse Mexican Hat style for 30" rows, not sure about the flat style. HTH, Mike
