I remember seeing a post awhile back of the engine sr number of when they beefed up the inside thrust bearing inside 6080 motor. Was woundering if anybody still had that info. Thanks

Thanks for the copies Lynn. I always thought that later on in the production of the 433 block, it was beefed up internally to help with the thrust problem. It really wasnt a problem with the block its self. It was with what was behind it in the 6000 series.

The very late engines had a thrust bearing flange that was about double the width from the original design. Older blocks sometimes wouldn't accept the newer thrust bearing without machining the cap or upper bearing saddle sides. External thrust bearing was a good fix, but still requires some upkeep and maintenance.
