I have an F and an M2 that both need a couple leaky hydraulic lines replaced. What type of fluid do they take? Will any transmission fluid work or does it have to be a specific type? I don't want to go to the dealer and pay their prices.

Dexron III, also sold as just "Automatic Transmission Fluid"
Do not Get Dexron 6 (VI) it is full synthetic and will trash seals. If you own a Gleaner, you will be using the 10 dollars off a 50 dollar purchase coupon you get in the mail for your local Napa for a 5 gallon bucket of Dexron III. :) dont buy in quarts or gallons, 5 gallons is what you need. Later Gleaners have went to 821XL (like in the 90s) but the Dex has high heat stability, good cold weather flowability, and excellent cleanliness, I personally like it, just gotta keep leaks in check. |

Gleaner: the properly engineered and built combine.
If you need parts for your Gleaner, we are parting out A's through L2's, so we may be able to help. |
