The Foam seal around my 190xt radiator has fallen apart. Suggestions on what to use to seal around the tin work to keep the air flowing through the rad?

best would be closed cell foam.  I think the box lumber stores sell it as draft stop foam for windows, doors and sills...

You can try that expanding spray foam, though it's hard to do a neat job with it. Remember that a little goes a long way.

I'll have to check it out.
I need to put it back together to see how much clearance I have to fill in.

Umm, that would stick to both surfaces and then the hood could not be removed?

One of the electronics repair places I used in the past would use expanding foam but they sprayed it into a bag inside the box. The plastic bag made it come apart later and the foam made the box into a perfect shipping container for my part.

I was thinking a thin piece of plastic as well.

Would a piece of 'Saran Wrap' stick to the hood.

Put Saran Wrap' on, then assemble.

A good big box store may have  the thick foam backer that window installers sometimes use to fil BIG gaps,if not found, that rectangular selfadhesive  door foam will work. If you need extar extra height ,just put 2nd layer on top.
I would NOT use spray foam. too messy, too uncontrollable,it's a nighmare in a spray can !!

I used pipe sleeve insulation for my 7045. For the most part, I cut it in half length ways into various lengths and shapes. For a little tidier job, I could have used adhesive or double sided tape or something, but mostly I used zip ties. Seems to work fine. Guys on here say the kits are still available at Agco, but no dealers around me. Not one of Allis's better traits in my book.

Tell me about it! When the siding people showed up early to side my "new" used freshly moved house I had wanted to seal up a few gaps where it set on the foundation before they sided. I was in a panic when I came home from work and they were already at it. I grabbed one of the two cans of Great Stuff or whatever it was called. I tried to get the cover off the first can and I broke the tip off. I had foam flowing out all over myself and ran to the house to try and seal the gaps with this volcano flowing everywhere. That ran out real fast. I then grabbed the second and last can and opened that up much more carefully, but it wouldn't shut off and again I'm running around like a mad man trying to seal gaps. Ruined my jacket and I'm sure the siding people were really impressed! Star

For years, I used 3" memory foam. It worked great, right up to the point when it caught fire this fall.

I found in the local hardware store they have foam for sealing around air conditioners, it comes in like a 3" x 3" x 36" piece along with a smaller size available (1-1/2" X 1-1/2" X 36"?)depending on the hole to be filled.  I used it on a 7060 and my D-21.

I save old couch cushions, and when I need foam for anything I cut it with an electric knife the size I need. i've  used this thru the years for the tractors too! they also work good for making new seats too.

When I worked at the Allis dealer the shop foreman's wife did upholstery work and he used an electric knife to make the foam pieces from the left over foam or old couch cushions. Worked good.
