We are in Branson on vacation. I'm looking for a couple things:

1. Are there any AC collectors relatively close (maybe 100 miles +/-) that welcome visitors this time of year?

2. We have a few things we are going to do. Today, we are going to Silver Dollar City. Any suggestions on things we should see while we're here?

This is our first time to Branson.

Unfortunately the Shepard of the Hills outdoor theater production is closed this time of year.  That  would have been highly recommended.   Be sure to go wander around the original downtown Branson, not just the strip.  The original Bass Pro mega store is less than an hour north in Springfield, MO.   Lots to see inside there (ask Shameless!).   Mike

You gotta go eat at Lambert's Cafe in Ozark, MO. Not far away. They throw rolls at you, literally. Best eating in the state IMO. If you leave there hungry that's your own fault. Skip a meal before you go if you can. There will likely be a wait time be well worth it

There is a really big cave close by. Big enough that jeeps pull you around in wagons.

We flew into Springfield yesterday and we have a rental car. We are here through Thursday, December 8 (we have a 6 AM flight Friday, December 9).

A few of the things we are planning:
Silver Dollar City (maybe even two days)
Moses (play)
Six (musical)
Bass Pro in Springfield (with lunch at Hooters!!!)
Shepard of the Hills (drive through light show).

We met some great locals at Steak n Shake yesterday who told us to go to Talking Rock's tavern and to eat at Dana's and Lambert's Café.

Still nothing about tractors, though...

Not a lot of row crop farming in that part of the state so that may limit things a little as far as tractors.

Lambert's, Home of the Throwed Roll. It's been a while since I was last there, but the Russian comedian Yakov was hilarious. Gallagher was pretty good too. The original Outback Steakhouse is there too. It's quite different from all of the others.

We just got back from Branson. I've been sickly lately so I just stayed in the condo for 4 days. Best time I ever had at Branson.

Your welcome to come to my farm in Harrisonville, MO. I have mainly WD/WD45 tractors and implements, plus my freshly rebuilt D19D, and snap coupler B, plus lots of NOS parts, etc.  If you not into the WD/WD45 line, then it would be a waste of time.

I'll add my 2nd or 3rd for both Lambert's and the musical SIX.   Both are great.  I haven't been to the Lambert's in Ozark but have been to the original one in Sikeston, MO.    Mike

Michael - didn't we have a MO Allis Club meeting and someone's place/personal show somewhere in SW MO.   I didn't make it to that one but thought it wasn't that far from Springfield.   Mike

If you have never been on a "Ducks" ride, it is a good experience. The first time you go  from  driving down the road to diving off into the lake is something your mind has to wrap it self around. My kids got to take the controls for a bit. A bit pricey, but fun for the family.

The "Titanic" is a must see!

Classic Car along the strip is also a good place along with the restaurant.

Tractor Museum (?) is very interesting, it also has old cars.
There is an Antique Toy place also, very interesting.

The College of The Ozarks is a very, very interesting place to go, they have a very good Brunch. The best brunch you'll ever have, total prepared and served by culinary students.

All the students grow, prepare, and serve the food, all students work.

It really depends on what you like.

College of The Ozarks has a tractor museum in addition to the Foster museum. The show SIX as previously mentioned is real good. I am 120 miles from Branson, you are welcome here. The local John Deere dealer has a museum that is pretty good if you like green at all

If you come this way to visit Bull, you are welcome to drop by my place as well. I'm near Golden City mo.
Branson in the winter is the only time to go in my opinion. Take your wife to the outlets. There are some good bargains to be had this time of year in guy stuff as well.the IMAX is pretty cool too. If you want to get out of town without going too far, the conservation area has some nice trails

Pretty much any show. you've picked some good ones. Take in a couple of the morning ones too.

+1 on college of the Ozarks museum.

Eureka Springs an easy drive for an afternoon.

If you like hiking, go to the Henning nature preserve- kinda right in town. Paul Henning as in the creator of The Beverly Hillbillies. The nature area has a hiking trail you can walk thru several old homesteads with the old chimney's and dug wells.

Crossed Silver Dollar City off my bucket list this summer- major tourist trap....
