Hi guys,
I haven't been around here for quite a while. Life gets kinda busy. Anyway I just saw an Allis ED40 for sale locally. It's a non-runner. I don't know anything else abouit it except that one rear wheel/tire is missing. I know they were produced in England. Were they a good tractor? Think it's worth taking a look & possibly getting back to working condition? ![]() Edited by Protrucker - 07 Oct 2016 at 10:44am |

Could be if you can find parts. Being from overseas parts are hard to come by.

Verify if the U-shaped exhaust elbow is good. Also the steering can be a problem so check that too.

I have had two of them that I bought for resale. They do not bring much money. There is not a lot of collector interest. If you invest much in one you should plan to keep it. Parts are hard to find. The engine is a Standard 23C diesel, this is the same engine that was used in the Ferguson T0-35. The engines are normally hard to start.

another weak spot is the lift housing, if that is good, it might be worth getting it to run...
