I believe the bin holds more than most farmers grew in the 30's & 40's, maybe even 50's.

So how is this thing comparing to the Case's and JD's it's running against? Is it living up to the smack talking and the bold challenges that AGCO was giving?

Yes. It's the 40-ft version of the DynaFlex flexible cutterbar draper header introduced last year.
A link to the DynaFlex brochure:

That's one of the neat things about the DynaFlex design compared to some other flexible drapers. It doesn't need the weight, wear points and complexity of gauge wheels. (Or a hinged frame for that matter.) The DynaFlex -- with its rigid frame, fully flexible (8" flex) cutterbar, ground sensing, and the combine's built-in lateral tilt -- works great without gauge wheels. It is really a very different concept of a flexible cutterbar draper header. |

Willie Vogt who covers machinery and technology at Farm Progress publications has posted a blog with photos about his July 8, 2010, visit to the Gleaner Super 7 prototype in the field during the http://www.farmprogress.com/blogs.aspx/quick/glimpse/of/a/prototype/1471 The video from AGCO about the S7 prototype testing may also be of interest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwX2VFBwk4s Edited by ih330 - 09 Jul 2010 at 1:24pm |
