Topic: Help Identify 2-Row PlanterPosted: 04 Oct 2016 at 9:12am |

Hey guys.......new to the forum. I have been over on the YT Forum for many years and I have ALOT of Farmall Tractors and Implements. I know a lot about them. I have just recently bought a few Allis Chalmers Tractors and Equipment and know very little about them. Please help me along the way learn more about a different brand. I'm sure it will be a rough start, but we will get there.
Now that my intro is out of the way, I would like to find out what kind of planter I have here. I bought this at an estate auction recently in Tennessee. There were (3) Allis Chalmers "G" tractors (I bought 2 of them) and a lot of Allis Chalmers Equipment. I bought most of it and I know that a lot of it will fit the "G" tractors. This planter, I'm not sure what it fits or if it is even complete. Please chime in with any information you'd like to share! |

Here are the pictures. I apologize for the quality, as it was getting dark outside.

For a G? The flat stock on the front looks like something that would hook to a G.

Thanks for the input. Joe sent me a PM and said it fits a "G" tractor. I would like more information on it if anyone knows anything. Literature, manuals, model number, pictures of other ones/restored ones, etc.
Is this one complete? |

YT is a tractor themed website with parts and a discussion forum. It focuses on all different brands. It stands for yesterday's tractors.

Went to my vast collection of Allis Chalmers manuals and what you have appears to
be an Allis Chalmers G 2 Row Drill Planter, which appears to me to be a modified 2 row snap coupler planter or Vice Versa however you'd like to look at it.I have a very valuable original owners manual X3 BTW. |

are you saying you have 3 of those manuals to sell? Would you happen to have a parts manual or parts breakdown of it so I can see what is missing or if it is complete at all?
What is the model of the planter?

The owners manual breaks the planter down pretty good and names the parts but no
part numbers. No Model number it just calls it a 2-Row Drill Planter used with the Model G. Also have a Dealers Parts Manual that lists all the different equipment available for a G in 1948,its also an original AC factory manual. |

any chance you would scan that manual for us to see/use, or let me purchase it, or let me borrow it to scan?
Sounds like a valuable resource that should be electronically saved.

A snap couple drill would have taller wheels.
The G planters didn't have fertilizer boxes on them. Bob

Thanks for the info bob. What are the ones I've seen pictures of that have fertilizer boxes? Are those just the fertilizer units by themselves ?

Just joking about it being so valuable although I don't see a lot of original G books around. I'll have to go thru a stack of them to see exactly what I have. |
