Diesel tractor. Has anyone replaced their mechanical pump with an electric one? If so, where did you mount it? Would there be any advantage or disadvantage to going with the electric? Or should I just buy the mechanical and keep it original? Thanks.

Just buy the mechanical one. I've only had to replace mine twice since the tractor was new. The second time was when I restored it - just wanted the right look!

I've got 2 with these from Mr Gasket....sure is nice when bleeding the system! They are mounted to the side rail right below the filter...I think I drilled one hole and used one of the over sized holes. Seems the new mechanical pumps aren't lasting like the old ones...

I put an electric pump on my gas 4020. I made a plate to cover the mechanical pump hole with a bracket on that to hold the electric pump. Its really nice to turn on the ignition switch and let the electric pump fill the carburetor before doing that by cranking the engine and the old mechanical pump (that was leaking gasoline into the crankcase for years).
