I don't understand why you can't mow very tall grass? As long as the discharge is on the side where the grass has already been cut, it should work fine. The one on my AC 5020 worked fine. I quit using it because the mower tilted where there was a slight incline so the grass didn't mow level, but otherwise it cut fine.
Not all mowers rotate the same way! Maybe you put the blades on upside down? |

No grass comes out the discharge, all clippings build up in the rear of the deck? Blades are on right. Tall grass clogs the deck with no place for clippings to go.if the discharge was on the left side it would blow out discharge?

if it clogs in the middle, the belt isn't on the right way on one pulley or more.

Well, are you a first-time user of this particular machine and mower deck?? Because if you are, there is something WRONG with it. There is no design flaw. Those mower decks were the tops in the Industry at the time they were built. Sounds to me like its running backwards. Sure wish I could be right next to it and I'll bet within 3 minutes the problem would be solved.

The big power pulley on the center of the deck runs counter clockwise.pto.. shaft runs clockwise.there is no way I have the belt on wrong.the big pulley should run clockwise, then the belt diagram would make the blades all turn right. I"ll try to post a pic of the belt diagram.

Well, maybe your expectations of it's capacity are too high. It's a lawn mower, not a brush cutter. I'd guess anything over 4 inches is pretty tall for a mower like that and how low do you expect to cut it ??

Right hand discharge.my 16hp simplicity mows taller grass than thing.if I cut a hole on the left side it should work great.just a stupid way of doing it. I was just wondering if anybody else had a mower like this and the grass actually blows out the discharge! Unless I need special blades. I have ones with a curve upright bend.

That's why I was asking, my 5020 lefthand requires lefthanded blades. Thought maybe someone hooked you up with the wrong blades

Sounds like the belts are old and worn and need to be replaced.

I am just throwing things out here. Is it the correct deck for the 5215 ? Remember it is only 15 horse. And a lot bigger then a 16hp lawn mower. I could kill mine easy. You have to mow short grass with that rig. I used mine for a couple years, and sent it down the road. They are weak. Not enough motor for the size of tractor it is.

Is the mower deck nosed down?? Generally, those decks are supposed to be 1/8" to 1/4" higher in the front center. Nosed down won't work well at all.
