Didnt realy know how I wanted to name the topic.

So I was raking hay with the 200 then baling with the 6080. And for some reason this question came to mind. The intake and muffler are on opposite sides of hood on these tractors. What's the reason. Just was woundering

Cooler intake air on one side of the engine and hot exhaust air on the other side is how I believe the engineers planned it.  If they are both on the same side, the hot air warms up the cooler intake air.  Everyone should know that cooler air is more dense.

The muffler on the left side of the hood on the 6000 and 8000 series was designed to be like that to make it easier to see when plowing, cutting hay, etc
