Maybe take a look at the oil pressure relief spring. If it broke, you may not get oil to the filter base. Did the engine start to rattle or knock? I hope not
![]() If it had oil pressure and then went down, could be from oil warming up and thinning out or, something blocked the suction screen? |

Like Charlie said check to relief spring/plunger, if it looks OK, you might try priming the oil pump with some new oil through the oil filter feed line coming out of the block, then drain the oil and use a ice pick to push up through the oil pump screen on the oil pump if it moves the pump, mounting bolts have come out. after this short check list then and only then drop the oil pan and drop the oil pump out check the driven gear on the pump and the camshaft oil pump drive gear , oil pump driven gear pin and open the oil pump up look at the two gears inside the pump and the oil pump drive shaft, cover and gasket.

This is my pulling tractor and it runs stong, but has a block leak at the bottom between 1-2 it has been like this for years so I only run water and drain before use I was warming it up to change oil. I only pull in the classic stock class. The local fair is fri. nite and don t want to disappoint the grand kids. I will pull the relief valve in the morning. I will keep you pnformed. Cal in Ct
