Still tinkering with my brother 190xt. It has a lope at idle, what causes this?
It was hard starting and the -49AF pump was timed to 18 btdc. Changed this to 26 and it starts much better.
While idling it will puff black ever so many revolutions when it lopes.
He had his injector tips just replaced but the pump has not been serviced.
The motor is a late D2900 (85,000 serial) probably out of a 7000

Thanks
Since the 200/7000 were set to 18 BTDC, was that due to the pump having an auto-advance?

yes, the 200 has advance. The lope could also be the flex ring is broken.
