I have a 190 and I'm replacing the seals in the lift arms. I have removed the lift arms. Kinda at stand still where do I go from here do I need to replace the plate the has the top link on it. Any help would be great.

Slide the shaft sideways as far as it will go and change one seal.....slide it back the other way and change the second seal. Use lots of grease. If they still leak, you need new bushings to support the shaft.

Do I need to remove the top link plate that has the 4 bolts.so slide that splined shaft from one side to another to get seals out.

Replace the bushings while you are at it. They are most likely worn. The top link mounting has nothing to do with this job.

Well I got everything tore into and found out all I have is o-rings in the back not seals. Anything I should be aware of when I put these back in.

The O rings ARE the seals. Replacing the bushings will be the hard part, the O rings are no problem (just oil them up well).

The o-rings can be the seal but there may also be a back-up ring.

Without looking at it I'd say maybe a wiper.
Do you have a manual? If not I'd suggest getting one. |

The original back-up rings may have been made of different material than the new ones. Back-up rings to the outside and Orings to the inside...lots of oil or grease to avoid cutting them.

Big ? I just went to agco bought the seals i needed it's green colored do I still need the rubber o-rings too....the agco diagram just shows a seal no o-rings..and which way does the seal go in the flat side of seal to the inside of outside of the tractor

Maybe they have changed the actual design of the part. The AGCO parts man should be able to tell you.

So I call agco part basically no nothing I did find out there two different parts I guess u could say...one was a counter boar or and internal groove....mine has an internal groove..my 190 was one of the first ones built with serial# 1003..that's all I know

That drive in style seal didn't start until a model 200 tractor.

All I know is that I took a screwdriver and fliped the oring out of a groove in the housing

Are the lift arm piece have a certain way they are suppose to go on cause there a really pain in the butt and how do u get both arms on the same.

The arms need to be timed to each other. They are not timed to the shaft. All the shaft splines are equal distance from each other. Welcome to the world of tractor wrenching.......some days are better than others.

I've never seen a 190 that used anything but an O-ring,no back up ring or seal. Seals were later 200's.

I have no clue myself I put the seal in it and it went in just fine..I guess I will see what happens when I use it. My Tractor must be a component Tractor ranging from 190-200 because everyone said a 190 has just the PTO under the seat...mine has the under the seat PTO along with the lever on the side of the console...neutral brake and then engage..either this tractor has had some serious up grades thur it's life..
