My 'new' '59 D-14 has the heavy duty drawbar(about 19" wide, standard is 12").Just curious if it wasan option? I don't plan to use it,took the one off my '57 D-14 as well.

The later D-14's and all D-15's & D-17's had the wider drawbar bracket. The earlier D-14's had the narrow bracket. I seen an add in the Old Allis News selling reproductions of the drawbars and the wider drawbar supports for D-14, 15, & 17's. The name of the company escapes me at the moment

The first couple of years D-17 had the narrow drawbars also.
