chevron 15w40 ch spec. There was a update to increase oil capacity from 11 to 13 litres.
In a 613 scraper or 225 digger [150hp] application have seen them do 12000hrs. Even at 210hp truck application have seen them do 300,000 km then a in chassis rering and another 200,000 before a rebore. But the like and need exellent maintence in the air intake system, cooling system [inhibitor not just antifreeze] clean fuel and religious oil changes. some people do 200hr or even less oil changes. This imho was there weakness, not enough oil capacity for the hp properly looked after they went quite well, but they must all be 30 plus years old by now. I would have rebuilt 30 odd of them in my younger days. A good one on a dyno would do 215hp full load at 2800rpm and 520 lb torque at 1400rpm, and boogie to 3000rpm at high idle. merv

I had one in a Cat 225 excavator with 12000 hrs on it as far as I know the only work on it was one head was removed for a antifreeze leak, I used 15/40 series 3 oil (can't remember the brand) It had a Denai 3000 delimber attachment on it for limbing trees.

i had a brother at syracuse supply in failure analysis that stressed rolling in all new engine bearings every 100k miles in trucks--i don't know the hours he stressed for off-road equipment--his records showed it payed off.
