I'm considering a 3-point conversion for my WD and want a well made unit. I'd appreciate if you'd share your experiences and thoughts regarding the best on the market. Thanks.

I've got 2 A-C units here, the ones that allow PTO to be used.Must say they are well designed and built tough.Don't know if they're 'specific' for my D-14 though.

![]() Here is the one I bought from Tony's. Very nice setup...easily removed so you can use snap coupler implements. Plus you can drop the drawbar and 3 point still stay on tractor to use. |

The one shown above is my favorite for the wd and wd45. It's what I had on mine and they really work well. We sell it as the "newstyle" on our site below.

I must be haunted by Mr. Ferguson--
I haven't converted anything to 3 point yet, but I always want to incorporate draft control (traction booster) when figuring out how I might do it. When browsing at AC kits, I always gravitate toward the option that will aid plowing for some reason. Maybe I'm thinking if the tractor already has the feature from the factory, you should use it. But then again, how many people use the tractor primarily for tillage anymore? -karl f

This hitch doesn't "convert" your tractor to 3pt only. I still use snap coupler equipment...just drop your drawbar like normal and hook up to the snap coupler implement. |

Some of the 3-point conversion kits actually present draft load through the snap-coupler hook, hence, the traction-booster system still functions... if you so desire. The downside, is that if you'd like to use SC implements, you'll hafta yank at least SOME of the 3-point conversion stuff.
I built my D17 Series I's 3-point kit, and one of the concerns I had about mine, was that draft load doesn't go through the SC hook... it bears upon the bolts passing up into the bottom of the transaxle. They're stout bolts, and I used proper selection of materials and fitment to assure that they won't be easily broken by shear strain, but it doesn't alleviate the fact that draft loads are NOT going to where the 'factory' engineering had it applied. Haven't broken anything yet, and hope I never will... but it certainly has capacity to lift, and so far, has not shown an inkling of failure suggestion against some substantial abuse. |
