First time out with it since the refurb, pulled 4500 to 3rd place and 5000 to 4th place with 8 pullers in each class. I weighed in at 4490 for both classes as I didn't have any weights to put on it.
It is so nice being able to pull back to low range and get another 20 feet Tongue

I had several people come up and talk about the tractor which was nice since it is JD/IH heavy there. I was the only Orange guy again Cry

Power Directors rule!  Is there a chance that you'll be at the Woodstock, VA pull with your B and D17?  If so, I may give you some company in the 3K class.

I was talking to friend few day's back, we were discussing the weights of our 175's. We are thinking close to 4 ton, can there be that much difference in weight?  D17 vs 175, that does include loaded tires/wheel weights.

i am surprised you were allowed to use the PD.  any pulls i have been to dont allow shifting.  it would sure be handy when the rules allow though.  its always nice to have orange break up the green and red.

Brett I am going to miss that pull as my son is graduating HS. I enjoy that track! Good luck!

The rules does state that you can't shift gears, but use of a T/A is allowed. However some places I go to state that a T/A can't be used. I find this odd as it was standard equipment at the time that gave it a leg up on other manufacturers, I guess if they didn't have it, then we shouldn't be allowed to use it... Angry
Then by golly they shouldn't be allowed to use their creeper gears!

This is plain vanilla tractor, no weights or fluids. Operating weight would be closer to 7,000 I would guess? I know dad's D15 has full weights front and back plus fluid in all the tires, I can't imagine how much that weighs.

My 17 with one set of wheel weights me and about 3/4 full of fluid in the rear tires weighs in around 5,800# or just over. I loved out pulling 720 Deeres and 880 ollies in the farm stock classes.

Yeah I was wondering what the sweet spot was for D17 pulling weight. 4500 seems too light to get good traction.
