Hey guys my patience and know how for starters has run its course so I mailed it to my father in law who is taking it to his tractor place in Houston. All of the advice was tried with no success but I'm now more educated on the subject because of you fine gents. On the lighter side it gives me some time to replace some other things like hydraulics. Which leads me to a dumb question. Is it normal for the control unit to lift the arms to squirt fluid out when I let it down? I'm not trying to restore the tractor to factory, I love this ac because its our first. We use it all the time and I was also wondering if I could replace the rams also with some from my local tsc. If anyone has had the same issues any advice and expertise would be greatly appreciated( I know a little about hydraulics but not enough )

This will be interesting. I'm also in the midst of a long past due maintenance overhaul on my D12. My hydraulics leak a little and I also get the little squirt when the lift is on the bottom. (normal or not?)
I just dropped about $1500.00 on this little baby, and haven't even started on the hydraulics. The two new back tires accounted for the bulk $800.00. I guess there is no need to complain about a 50+ year old tire dry rotting and splitting. When you start adding up the new gauges, and RPM cable rebuild kit, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, front end bearings, races, and seals, fan belt, oil, and the $20.00 Napa gold oil filter, (That might be incorrect), due to the fact that I'm not showing any oil pressure.

I had to put mine back to work, so the small hydraulic leak will have to wait.
Let me know what you find out.

Shouldn't be any squirting oil while operating lift arms. The hydraulic cylinders are made for High Pressure hydraulics from 3000psi up to maybe 4,000. I don't think tractor supply would have one way rams rated at the pressure. Most 2 way cylinders would react slow to the Allis system because of the high pressure , low volume set-up.
 A $9 dollar Fram filter will work as good as ANY filter made for these old tractors because they are a bypass system. Only some of the oil is filtered. Also do not use a 60 or 100 psi gauge.

I wouldn't use a fram filter on anything. Cost me a cylinder and $3300.00 on my cummins. There was 50 some Dodge cummins engines went down by particles coming out of the filter and pluging the oiler  below the cylinder.   Mine had 54000 on it at the time.  There were 2 sitting at local Dodge dealership.  Use a Baldwin  or something other tham a Fram.

These old Allis engines have a by-pass system. If you have oil pressure on the gauge, your filter is working. Fram is the only filter I know that wasn't changed to the paper element that cause many allis engines to be Scraped or oveer hauled.
 If there was a case of failure of filters in a full flow oil system, was anything ever proved as to what caused it? How much did Fram have to pay out?
