I'm very familiar with the "W" series headlights. Removing the screw and replacing bulbs. However, I recently traded up to the D-series with headlights on the fenders. Here are my questions:
1. A snap ring appears to have replaced the screw to hold the lens in. How do I remove this "snap ring" without possibly causing some unneeded damage. I'm sure there is a "trick" to this. 2. Once I have the lens off what will I find inside? A bulb to replace? A heard one time it's a significant upgrade however, they don't look like a sealed beam yet. 3. Where can i obtain replacement parts? Agco, a 3rd party? Doesn't seem to much info around about this. Any assistance I would be greatful for as I sometimes have to burn the midnight oil as I work alot during the day. Going orange is going great. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or information!

Fender mounted D-series headlights should have sealed beam bulbs for the headlights and red backed sealed beams for the work lights with a separate smaller automotive style bulb and a rotary switch to change from work light to red tail light.
Snap rings go on last when assembling them. You just use some needle nose and/or flat screwdrivers to pop them out of the grove and remove them. If they are not missing, the visors come off next then the bulb should come out. If it's been a while there may be some rust inside the sealed beam bulb may need some help to come out. Headlights are available at most auto parts stores. I think you can upgrade to halogen. AGCO has the Work light red back bulbs. $30 each last time I bought some. The 2nd smaller bulb in there is also easy to find in auto parts stores. Several vendors on this site have replacement visors. I bought a pair and they look good...they were a little tight to get the snap rings on over them but I managed. Mike Edited by Skyhighballoon(MO) - 12 Mar 2012 at 9:16pm |
