D17 Pan Seat

    can someone point me to or send a detailed breakdown of the D17 pan seat ? I see numerous places to buy bushings, but I haven't found any outlet for other seat parts. I'm not at all certain of the operation of the various folding and if there are any adjustments. I know the holes at both ends of what I would call a dogleg bracket are badly worn. The rubber grommets are shot and I haven't figured out where the rubber foot thing goes. I think I saw a seat rebuild kit, but again it won't help to put new bushings in worn out holes. Does anybody know of a source for other seat parts? I did find some other seat parts at Wengers, but no dogleg arm., plus I'm not sure what the workings are supposed to look like.

	Last dogbone I bought from AGCO was 100 dollars. You can repair them with time and patience. Rubber busing are available also. New shock is about 100 dollars also. I make the pins ,if you are interested. HTH Tracy Martin

	I take my seats apart and have my local machine shop weld in new bushings and make new shafts out of stainless steel. The rubber bushings are still available from AGCO for a reasonable price.

	I'll have to check around here for a shop that can redo it, In my younger days, I would have just done it myself, but no shop or energy anymore. The only bushings and pins that are wobbley and loose are the dogleg ends. The rest of it seems OK. The rubber shock grommets are shot too, but they don't look that hard to replace. I guess the best way to start is just to remove the seat from the tractor and get it apart. Thanks for your replies and help. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I work on putting this Allis right.

	Another question, Are the pans supposed to be welded fast to the plate ? On the bottom of the plate at the rear is a curved edge that looks like it kind of hooks over the edge of the plate it rests on to hold the seat in the up and back position. It that the way that works? My curved edge is really worn and there's not much of a rolled edge anymore. Norm I'll probably call you Monday and we can figure out what I need. besides a Tach and a cble and adapter and a gas gauge and a steering wheel and center cap. And a Temp gauge and lites. And those little lever end for the lift and boost levers. Oh and my generator back from shop and new regulator installed. Just a few little projects, And I also need a right side hood panel. Mine looks like a rough dirt road and I'm missing the side panels too. I'll have this 17 squared away by the end of summer. And then I want a loader for it.

	Ok Seat Off. both ends of dogleg almost worn through. The rest of the pins and bushings look Ok. I guess I'll try a couple of shops around here and see if they can repair it. I suppose while it's off I should just go ahead and replace the bushings everywhere. Former owner just stuck bolts through the dog leg holes to take up the play.

	Old Pins and bushings all out, Parts is parts, now my guy says he needs a diagram or photo for reassembly. Anybody got such an image or illustration?
