    Posted: 08 Feb 2012 at 10:20pm
I have a 8010 that I thought had a clutch that seemed to only slip in high gear pulling a load, took it apart, "torque limiter" was in need of rebuild, but then we took power director clutch out.  Seems the low side clutches were installed incorrectly, somehow the belleville spring washers were unevenly put on, three of the bolts had six washers and one only had four.  I called a place looking for the warped clutch packs and washers and was told his book says Allis calls for 28 belleville spring washers.  I have the "Service Publications" manual and the pictures in it only shows five on each bolt.  It is looking like it will cost almost $2000 to fix my tractor, so here are my questions.  How many belleville spring washers do I need?  Does anyone know where parts can be gotten at a more reasonable price?  Do any other AC models have the same power director?  I found a 7060 hoping to use parts from it, will anything work?  I love my AC's but this is outrageous! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!  I apologize if this has already been covered, I am new to the website and couldn't find any info on this topic.

www.agcopartsbooks.com  says your 8010 takes 28 bellville washers. That sounds like alot. The book also says my 8070 uses 4. I know there is more than 4 in mine but i don't remember how many. Seems like it had 3 pair stacked.........maybe it was "4" pair per bolt. That sounds possible. If you put 5 on each bolt you'd have 2 leftover.

This is one of those dilemmas that most don't pay attention to.....remove the bolt with the belleville washers and set it off to the side, never worrying about the "count" stack, because it should be correct. If your retainer bolt is 2 1/4" long you need 6 springs(24 total)....if your bolt is 2 1/2" long you need 7 springs (28 total) which is what I think an 8010 should be. Washers are all opposite each other all the way from top to bottom.

Looked again and 8010 & 8070 call for same 5/16  2 1/2NF G8 bolt[ #70931473. So by what Doc says they both need 7 bellvilles per bolt. Book says 6 bolt on 8070 and 4 on 8010. Can't vouch for accuracy of those #'s. Been a couple years since inside mine.

Thanks for all your responses. Nice to hear from those who have a lot more experience than I have. I'll try to answer all your questions. My tractor has the 2 1/2" bolts so from the information you all gave me I do need 28 Belleville spring washers. Can I reuse the old ones and buy more or should I replace them all? Second, the spring retainers between the bolt and Bellevilles are showing some wear, should I replace them? And lastly does anyone know if I can use parts from the 7060 power director? Would it even be possible to use the entire power director from the 7060 or even the entire transmission? I have no problem cutting holes in the floor and using the pushbuttons instead of the electronic high/low. The question was asked why it would cost $2,000. The guy I called said everything to rebuild it minus the high side clutch pack was gonna run about $1,700. Then I gotta pay my mechanic. I am sure some of my questions seem crazy but I'm trying to figure out the most economical way to fix my baby! Thanks again!

I also did find in my service manual that I need 28 spring washers. The picture shows 5 on the bolt and then underneath it says "7 per retainer" Thanks for all your help.
