This is to introduce a new member that I think needs a special HELLO. Dave is the Park Ranger for a Boy Scout camp in Pleasant Valley Utah. He has five miles of road to grade to keep the facilities open. All of you that own this model machine already know its too fast to grade efficiently. The Boys would appreciate all the help that is needed to accomplish Daves needs. Put on your thinking caps and give Dave a helping hand. Charles, several years ago I built my oun grader. Its made from a WD, I lengthened the frame , made a 10 ft. blade that power angles. Besides my 1/4 mile drive I hire out to do about 4 others plus the Church parking lot. It is a cheap outfit and fun to use, plus its orange! HTH Mark L

Dave, it may be a tall order. I have made similar requests in the past few years and have not had any success. I keep hoping that I will run across a parts machine with the auxiliary transmission. In the mean time I just make do and end up running the engine quite slow in tight situations. It is still capable of spinning the four drive wheels even at a fast idle. One option that may be a slight help is to buy the smallest diameter tires you can that will fit your wheels. The drive tires should be all the same size as these graders do not have a differential. All four drive wheels are locked together.
A couple of years ago someone took out their crown and pinion gears. One responder to that post said that they were a weak point and they thought that the crown and pinion were common to some truck rear end. Unfortunately this was never confirmed but if they were common to a truck rear end it might be possible to to get a different ratio that would slow it down.
