Dad has been looking at LT90's and there's one at auction this weekend. I have heard good things about them but was wondering your opinions that have one. It is an FWA and has 1000 hours on it. We would be planting, bailing and brush hogging with it. Any ideas what it's worth. It's describes as very nice but i've never seen one on auction that wasn't nice.
thanks for your help derek

we have had one since new, its got about 2300 hrs on it now. Cummins 3.9 engine pulls unbelievable, some minor electrical issues but that's about it. No where near as fuel efficient as the same size Deutz one it replaced. The later ones i believe went back to the Sisu engine but maybe those are the LT95's, i'm not sure.

Great Tractors we have sold a ton of them over the years, If it is a LT90 it has a cummins engine, if it is a LT90a then it has the AGCO Sisu engine.

I had an LT70 which was the toned down version of the LT90. Mine had the 2 speed hi-low which was a decent transmission and simple. I like the cummins engine but the Sisu is good too. The LT70/90 had the cast iron sub frame which the got rid of with the Sisu I believe.
The only difference between the LT70 and 90 is clutch size, intercooler and a little more cooling capacity I believe. New they were in the $40-$45,000 range with 4wd and cab all decked out. I've seen LT70 2wd without cab with very low hours for under $20,000 which I think was a good teal. I always liked the look of those and would have one if AGCO didn't lie to me. IMO Pros is not much plastic on those tractors. Steel hoods, cast iron frame and steel fenders which is getting rare. Simple with not a lot of electronics to fail. Cummins power so if AGCO goes bankrupt you can still get parts from the Cummins people. Negative: Transmission, while simple, is really basic. The LT75A/90A went to a four speed powershift that is much more handy. They also got a little bigger which was nicer for me. Cummins sound cool and are good basic engine that parts should be readily available for in the future but not real fuel efficient. OK cab but nothing special. |
