I am wondering if anyone truly knows what is supposed to be the wheel styles on a 1938 wc. Mine are currently spoked rears with a plain steel rim on the front. Does anyone know what they for sure should be? Thanks

Stamped steel fronts are correct. I thought they switched to stamped steel rears some time in late 37 or early 38 but don't know how long a run those were. I can't find a picture right now either.

1937 serial #59636 thru 1939 serial #81756 had one piece disc rear wheels so if yours is a 1938 it should have one piece disc wheels front and rear. Before these they were 24" spoked and after these they were 28" 2 piece with cast centers.

Here is an original unmolested tractor with the rims I mentioned.

Those are the ones that should be on a 1938.

Ok that is a help. I recently learned my tractor started out on steel but then was converted sometime later so I was unsure what the correct rims were.

If yours originally had rear steel and was converted with cut offs then FLAT spokes would have been original. If it has round spokes then they are from an earlier tractor. Otherwise ALL 38s styled or unstyled would have the 24" pressed steel rears and 16" 5 bolt (not 6 bolt) disc type fronts.
